Washing machine displays padlock

When the washing machine's display has a padlock, it indicates that the child lock is enabled

  • The washing machine will not start when the child safety lock is enabled.

  • The child safety lock can typically be disabled or enabled by pressing a few buttons. It will normally be displayed on the panel with a padlock and lines indicating the buttons to press.

  • If a padlock is shown on the display and this is not described in the user manual, the child lock is enabled.

  • On earlier Electrolux models, this function should not have been enabled, but it can be disabled/enabled by simultaneously pressing the two buttons to the left of Start/Pause and holding them down for about 5 seconds, when the “padlock” symbol will illuminate (enabled) or extinguish (disabled). (The models referred to above look like the images to the left.).
